Vijay Pichumani

“My artistic journey is a reflection of who I am. It is a search for meaning and purpose, a quest to find the light that illuminates the self, as I explore new ideas and experiment with different techniques. Through my art, I seek to also shed light on the beauty and complexity of life, inspiring others to find their own path and seek their own light.”

BFA in 2009 and MFA in 2011, both from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai. His practice spans woodcut printmaking, sculpture and mixed media in brass, copper, aluminium, wood and bronze.

Artist

Ranjith Raman

With a BFA in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvanathapuram, and an MFA in Fine Arts from the Sarojini Naidu School of Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Communication, Hyderabad, Ranjith is known for creating densely worked canvases that feature a unique style of embroidered lines, an assortment of chain, running and back stitches and eclectic embellishments. Having participated in a number of group and solo shows across the globe. Ranjith- a former Guest Faculty at the NIFT, Chennai- now lives and works from New Delhi. “Having watched my elder sister embroider when I was young, I was always drawn into the art form. The stitches slowly started increasing on my canvases. And one day the paint vanished and the canvas was only covered with stitches.”

Prakasan KS

With a KGCE in Fine Art Painting (1996), a National Diploma in Fine Arts, Sculpture from the R.L.V College, Thrippunithara Kerala, a BFA and a MFA in Painting from M.G. University. Prakasan is the 2006 winner of the Kerala State Lalit Kala Puraskkaram (Painting). Having participated in numerous group exhibition and art camps- most recent of which was the 56th National Art Exhibition at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi- he hold his first solo show of paintings and drawing at the Art Gallery, Kozhikode. A participant of many seminars and workshops from Ernakulam, Kerala. “I try to draw with a sense of the world. I try to create experience with a particular taste. I like to portray natural beauty in all its forms. I have lost my mother, and so I have an acute understanding of the significance of that role. In this work, I have portrayed the germination of a seed. To me it resonates with birth and the inherent connection I share with my mother.”

C Douglas

Born in Kerala, India, 1951; lives and works in Chennai, India Douglas started his career as a painter at the age of 20 when he travelled to Chennai (then Madras) to enrol himself at the Government College of Arts and Crafts. Douglas' telling of his own artistic journey has a sense of open-endedness. He describes it at different times as a process of 'learning and unlearning', an 'eternal postponement' in finding the meaning of life. In his works, that imbibe all his various experiences – from Kerala to Cholamandal to West Germany and back – he arrives at a universalised figure that approximates both subliminal depths and analysis. A winner of several accolades and honours, including awards from the Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai (1980); Bharat Bhavan Biennale (1990); National Award (Paintings, 1992, 1993) and the Charles Wallace Trust award (1994), Douglas has been a part of numerous solo and group shows across Europe and Asia. Monisha Mohanraj

Born in 1990, Monisha Mohan Raj has a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from Stella Maris College, Chennai, and a master’s degree in Painting from M. S. University, Baroda. Having won the D. J. Joshi Merit Award in 2010 and the Dr. V. S. Wakanker Gold Medal from Kalavart Nyas in 2011, Monisha is also the participant of many artist camps and group show including the opening show of Gallery Veda in Chennai, exhibiting alongside the likes of Chandra Bhattachrjee, Parvathi Nair and Arpana Caur.

P. V Gangu Naidu

Born into a family of agriculturists in Andhra Pradesh, PV Gangu Naidu has a BFA in Painting, Andhra University and an MFA in Printmaking (Graphics), Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Drawing inspiration from his own past andmemories, Gangu’s works serve as the window to his soul. With works in many private collections, both in India and abroad, Gangu has participated in several group exhibitions and art festivals. He now works as a freelance artist in Baroda, Gujarat.

Pradeep Unni

Pradeep unni was born in 1980 at Palakkad and spent his childhood there. He completed his Diploma in Fine Art from Kerala in 1998 and has since then pursued a career as a professional artist. He has exhibited in group shows at Coimbatore, Mumbai and Bangalore. He keenly studies the extreme similarities in behavioural characteristics in human beings and other animal creatures. On Earth,living and non-living organisms have an equal role. But aggressiveness,especially directed towards its own species is making humans our planet's #1 enemy.

Gita Hudson

Trained in Art with a Masters degree in Psychology, Gita’s works has been part of many exhibitions since early 90’s.She has been consistently showcasing her works in India and abroad. Highly influenced by temple art, architecture and textures of India, her paintings are semi-abstract with the suggestion of a female form, architecture, musical instruments, or some combination of these elements. They simultaneously explore color, texture, line and form, not as juxtapositions or layers but as integral to one another. Her international shows were in London, Durban, and Gandhi memorial centre in Washington DC in 2015 Gita is also the Program Officer for Dakshianchitra, a Heritage Museum in Chennai for the past nine years. The job profile involves curating art exhibitions, and seminars. She has done retrospective exhibitions of eminent artists like P. Perumal, Alphonso Arul Doss and Veerasanthanam. Curated exhibitions on famed artists like Yusuf Arakkal, Mookiah, Suriyamurthy and KG Subramanyan took place in the Museum galleries.

Karishma Wadhwa

Born and brought up in Chennai, she largely a self taught artist, based in Mumbai now for the last 16 years. Spirituality has been the base of her upbringing and the process of soul searching led to choose Buddha as main subject in her initial years. Her work evolved further with abstracts in the background to latest collection where abstracts of cityscapes take centrestage. The ambiguity about abstracts attracts her and also leaves work open to interpretation by the viewer. As she add colours, textures, strokes, various elements & forms to work, they are an extension of her personality - someone who also enjoys traveling, running, music & dance. She have worked extensively with acrylics, charcoals, pastels, oil paints and created numerous art works with inspiration from nature, still life, photographs and of course imagination.

Athiveera Pandian

Born in January 1966, Athiveera Pandian received his Diploma in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai, in 1989 and followed it up with a Master's degree in Fine Arts (Painting) from the same institution in 2002. Pandian's abstracts are easily recognizable for their character and style. He prefers to use larger-format surfaces, and the technique he uses to depict his amorphous ideas, impressions, and emotional responses creates a surreal idiom. Through his choice of colours and contrasts, the artist creates an ethereal atmosphere.

Sonal Varsheney

Born- 1985- in Agra has been working for the past 10 years as an independent artist, in the medium of ETCHING in graphics (intaglio). With an MVA in print making from Agra University, Sonal is the proud recipient of the 1st International Print Biennial Lalit Kala Academy New Delhi India, 2018 and an Award at International Biennial Print Exhibition, Taiwan, 2012. She has exhibited widely in group and solo shows in India and abroad. “I started working with etching and aquatint metal plates and later I combined it with multiple applications. My fascination for etching is basically for strong lines and vivid textures which primarily forms the base of my work. My recent work are an expression of my understanding of society at a large and in particular womanhood and her existence both biologically and culturally in a patriarchal society. A recurring theme on feminism which I work is the ‘AMBUBACHI’ the symbol of the power of creativity”.

Born in 1979 in Andhra Pradesh, Kasa Vinay completed his BFA in 2000 and MFA in 2004 from the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai. The ideas that presently occupy his mind are the dominance of money in society and how they manage to ‘convert everything, including my thoughts, into currency. Sujata Kar Saha

With a BVA from the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Rabindra Bharati University, and an MVA from the Government College of Art and Craft, University of Calcutta, Sujata is the participant of several group and solo exhibitions held across the country, including the Annual All India Exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata (2018); the Hyderabad Art Society Annual Exhibition (2018); the 4th Annual All India Art Exhibition at the Emami Chisel Art Gallery in Kolkata (2017); and Alla Prima, an international art fair organised by Gallery Five at IGNCA, New Delhi (2014). Recently, she held her seventh solo exhibition, titled Shifting Express at Triveni Art Gallery in New Delhi. Her works are part of various private and public collections in India and abroad.

Anil Kumar Govindappa

Anilakumar has a BVA in Painting from the Ken School of Art in Bengaluru and an MFA in Printmaking from the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad. A recipient of several awards, including the South Indian Art Exhibition Chandra Ilango Jury Award (2013) and the HRD Young Artist Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture (2012), he has been part of many workshops, residencies and group exhibitions. Recently, his works were part of the exhibition LANDSPACES space within a space – a group show organised by the Foundation of Visual Arts and Culture at Art Houz Gallery, Chennai; and The Lay of the Land, a group show at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad.

Subhasis Das

With a BFA from the College of Visual Arts, Kolkata, and an MFA from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, Subhasish is the 2018 recipient of the special award presented by Pragati Art. His works have been part of a number of exhibitions and fairs, including the Singapore Art Fair, Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshashala and the Birla Academy of Art in Kolkata. A participant of several art camps and workshops, his works are now part of collections both in India and abroad.

Asif Shaikh

Asif Shaikh completed his Diploma in Art Education from the Vasai Vikasini’s College of Visual Art in Mumbai. Having exhibited his works at many exhibitions across the country, he is a winner of the Dr.Sharadini Arun Dahanukar Award for painting (2015) awarded by the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation in Mumbai. A participant of numerous exhibitions, art camps, residencies and art fairs held across the country, he recently put together his third solo show, titled Joy of Life at the Triveni Kala Sangam Art Gallery in New Delhi and was a participant at A New World Is Possible, the Auroville Art Camp in Puducherry

A graduate in Journalism and Hindi Literature, Supriya Amber (Supriya Singh Jadon) started her artistic career with an M.A. in Painting and Drawing. The multi-faceted artist is a painter, poet, actor and a cultural activist who has held important positions like Secretary of Ityadi Art Foundation at Jabalpur, Organiser of the Jabalpur Art and Music Festival for the past 4 years, State Coordinator of M.P. and C.G. for the Ministry of Law and UNDP for the jointly collaborated project of the organisation People’s Watch. Supriya Amber is also pursuing her Doctorate in paintings of Padmabhushan Sri A. Ramachandran from Jabalpur – RDVV. With a career spanning over 50 years, Supriya Am- ber has exhibited her works in numerous group and solo exhibitions.

Akash Balmiki

Born on January 29, 1993, Akash Balmiki believes that while dressing for success, it is necessary to attain a free-wheeling attitude with a positive approach to solve problems. With a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and a Master’s degree in the same, Balmiki is known to have participated in a variety of exhibitions such as the Annual Exhibition of Swar Sangam at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, Camel Art Foundation, the 85th All India Exhibition of Arts in Punjab and the 27th Art Point Online Competition in Rajasthan where he won the second prize for his artwork.

Dhruti Mahajan

Hailing from Maharashtra, Dhruti Mahajan holds a BFA from Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune. Since 2011, Dhruti has been an active participant in a variety of exhibitions and group shows, including ‘Sambhavanayen’ (Online National Exhibition), ‘Golden Triangle’ by IAM Artist Foundation and the ‘Eclectic Expressions’ Group Exhibition. In 2020, she was awarded the 128th Bombay Art Society’s ‘His Excellency the Governor of Maharashtra Award and Gold Medal’ and a Silver Medal at ‘Sambhavanayen – 2020’ by Sambhavana Kala Manch, Uttar Pradesh.

Shailesh Dabholkar

With a BFA from the Goa College of Art, Goa University, and an MFA from the S. N. School of Fine Arts, Hyderabad Central University, Shailesh is the recipient of the 2016 State Award for Painting. He has participated in numerous workshops and many solo and group shows. In 2019, his work was displayed at the Lalit Kala National Exhibition held in Mumbai.

Kartik Pal

Born in November of 1990, Kartick Pal is a resident of West Bengal. He holds a BFA from I.C.A.D., Kolkata, and a Master’s degree in Arts, in drawing and painting. Over the years he has been a part of several exhibitions, and his recent ones include the Transmutation Art Exhibition in New Delhi in 2019 and the International Art Fair by Papillio Group in Murshidabad. He was awarded the All India Arts Universe Award in 2008 and the Indian Collage of Art and Craft Draftmanship Annual Award in 2013.

Victor Hazra

Born in 1988, Victor Hazra has a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and Painting from the Government College of Art & Craft, Agartala, and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts in painting from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. His most recent work, titled ‘Peripheries of the Milieu’, a virtual exhibition, was held at Doare Studio, New Delhi. The young artist has participated in a number of national and international shows, including the Gwanghwamun International Art Festival, Korea, in 2018.

Santhosh Kumar Verma

Born in Varanasi in 1956, Santosh Ke. Verma graduated from the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi with an M.F.A. from the Faculty of Visual Arts. In a period spanning over a decade, Verma has successfully participated in several exhibitions across the country, including the National Exhibition, Sahitya Kala Parishad, Lalit Kala Akademi Golden Jubilee Celebrations – 2004, Bharat Bhawan in Bhopal and AIFACS in Delhi. The artist has won the National Academy Award by the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and was also awarded a senior fellowship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Over the years, Verma has held solo exhibitions in Delhi, Mumbai and Baroda. He is the proud holder of the AIFACS Award in 2000 and 2001, Sahitya Kala Parishad Award in 1994 and the Bharat Bhawan Award in 1992. Verma’s works are a part of the collections in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi, Museum of Fine Arts, Bharat Bhawan in Bhopal, Sahitya Kala Parishad and several other institutions in India and abroad. He also has held international exhibitions in Syria (Iraq), Korea and Sri Lanka.

Rajashree Nayak

Born in 1983, Rajashree completed her BFA in painting from the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad, and her MFA in Printmaking from the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communications, Central University, Hyderabad. She is the 2018 recipient of the Telangana State Award for Printmaking and was placed third at the 6th All India Women Artist’s Contemporary Art Exhibition in 2017. She has also participated in numerous group shows and exhibitions across India.

Sagar Naik Mule

Hailing from the city of Ponda in Goa, Sagar Naik completed his BFA in Painting from the Goa College of Art, Goa University, and later on obtained an MFA in sculpture from S.N. School of Fine Art, University of Hyderabad. Since 2014, he has participated in many group shows and art exhibitions. He is the recipient of West Zone Silver Medal Award for Installation awarded at the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Awards; placed first in painting at the 2015 Telangana State Youth Festival; and more recently was awarded for his sculptures at the 44th Kala Academy Goa State Art Exhibition.

Ritwik Mondal

Ritwik has a BFA in Modelling and Sculpture from Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta University and an MVA in Sculpture from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. His works have been part of several exhibitions held across India including the Whitefield Art Collectives at VR Bengaluru (2018); and Connectivities Through Art at VR Punjab, Chandigarh (2017). He is the recipient of the Vadodara City Merit Certificate by the Prafulla Dhanukar Art Foundation in 2018 and the Ku. Sheetal Kadia Award for Sculpture. Ritwik now works as a guest faculty at the Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

Raka Panda

Born in 1990, Raka completed her BFA and MFA in Painting from Kala Bhavana Visva Bharati, Santiniketan. She was placed third in the All India Women Artist’s Contemporary Art exhibition in 2013 held at Chandigarh; and has received a grant from The Elizabeth Green Shields Foundation (2015). Elancheziyan

Born in 1984, Elancheziyan finished his BFA in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam, and later went on to pursue his MFA in the same discipline at the College of Art, New Delhi. His works were part of the Kochi Biennale in 2016 and the Pune Biennale in 2017. A recipient of several awards – the Tamil Nadu State Award (2018); and the South Zone Gold Medal for Painting – Elancheziyan has also been part of many exhibitions including Parables and Paradoxes at Apparao Galleries and Anant Art, New Delhi; and Across the Seas at InKo Centre in Chennai.

Gokul Raman has a BFA in printmaking from the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai, and is a participant of the National Printmaking Art Camp conducted by the Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikkara, Kerala. His works have been part of several group exhibitions including the 6th International Chitramala at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai; STEM to STEAM at GAVS Company, Chennai; CONGLOMERATION # 2 – an international group show at Lalit Kala Akademi, Calicut; the Printmaking show at Lion Art Gallery, Chennai; and Display at the Government College of Fine Arts in Chennai.

Sumesh K Sanmughan

With a Diploma in Graphic and Plastic Art, and a Diploma in Kerala Traditional Mural Art from Mahe Malayala Kala Gramam, Kerala, Sumesh started his artistic career in 2004 creating commissioned mural artworks. He is a participant of several group exhibitions and art camps including the group exhibition of contemporary artists at Ballard Art Space, Fort Kochi (2016); Durbar Hall, Kochi (2016–2017); Port Land Art Gallery, Kochi (2007); the artist camp Keralam @60 conducted by the Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi in 2017; and the design development workshop conducted by the Government of India Ministry of Textiles in Mahe (2009).

Gopa Roy

Gopa has a BVA in Drawing and Painting from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Agartala, and an MFA in the same discipline from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan. She has exhibited her works in several exhibitions and festivals held across the country including group shows Blurred Perimeters, Blurring Identities at the Bihar Museum in Patna; A-Part: Stories of Lands and Lines at Akar Prakar Contemporary in New Delhi; and the 2019 Festival of Architecture and Interior Designing that was held in New Delhi. A participant of the Gram Art Project – an international residency organised by FICA in Madhya Pradesh, Gopa is the recipient of the National Junior Artist’s Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India (2016–2018).

P. Gnana

Gnana is a distinguished, leading painter and sculptor in Singapore. He received a scholarship to LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore and has since produced and exhibited work widely across Asia. Gnana's art is synonymous with the metaphorical representation of the cow, which has emerged as a phenomenon in its own right. He has created cows in bronze, metal, painted and with paper prints on the sides, from car parts, both small in size or giant life sizes. The cows are characteristic and realistic no matter what materials have been used to create them. Experimentation, serious and sometimes meditative, has been one of the key instruments that has shaped Gnana's creative journey through the past two decades, allowing him to rejuvenate in a world of constant change and fluctuating emotions.
